Kitchen Decorating Idea 11/27

Handy Storage

This kitchen's island boasts a zinc top crafted by a local metal shop. Subway tile from Home Depot forms the backsplash.

Bright Idea: A plate rack set in a kitchen island offers stealthy storage.

What do you think of it?

Dh would love an island if we had a bigger kitchen.

No, I  don't like this.  Too much stuff on display.

We have this in our island. I use the area to hold the turtles food though. It works really well. I keep my plates in the china cabinet.

We have a island but it does not have a shelf like that.

I have a rack on my wall for utensils. I can't hang anything from my ceiling, nor do I have an island (kitchen is too small for both).

The island itself is a nice addition to any kitchen. I am undecided on the slection of the countertop. Typically not my choice.  I consider all aspects such as cleaning and the final look, duarbility, will scratches show .All though a pot rack offers convenience I feel they make the room look cluttered.  I can not imagine having to wash these every month or so just for display as I can imagine them collecting grease and dust.
