do any of you mamas have good home remedies for severely chapped lips?

my 10yr olds lips are really bad.  she has non-alcohol chapstick & it's doing no good.  they're really starting to bother her & i feel so bad for her.

Coconut oil, unrefined.  Its sold usually in the natural foods sections and its about $8-$10 dollars a jar (and it lasts forever) but its great for chapped skin, sores, diaper rash, razor burn, so many things!

This!  We keep it around for everything.  It helps with minor diaper rash, eczema, and dry skin.  I had terribly chapped lips when I went on a work trip to Chicago, and nothing helped.  The first thing I did when I finally got home was put aquaphor on them, and they quickly got better.

I use Carmex in stick form, much more effective than Chapstick.

I like Carmex or Medicated Chapstick also have her use a new soft bristled tooth brush to kind of exfoliate them atleast 2 times a day.  I get badly chapped lips and this helps.

Drinking water. Dry lips and skin are largely related to being dehydrated. The more hydrated you are, the less dry and cracked your skin and lips will be.

I've tried natural products (coconut oil) and don't care for them- taste yucky, don't last. I love softlips chap-stick.

Vaseline works, also if it's red and swollen I would do a bit of hydrocortisone but that's not a home remedy
