I'm not touching it.
(I know all of you are saying "wtf not?! Use it!!!!")
Well, we can pay out bills but my idiot dad is trying to be a "control freak" about MY tax $$$$$.
Sadly my dad IS a control freak! :(

So to keep my dad from demanding $$$$ of my tax $$$$, I told him "that tax $$$$ won't be touched until a 'oh sh**' moment comes up! Until than, it'll stay as a tax check & collect dust."
I really wanted a $60 (last year model phone) but idiot dad said "you blow your tax $$$$, I won't help you with your bills!"
.
.
.
(sigh) so hello to a crappy phone that only holds a battery of a dy charged (than dies that night.)
Oh joy.

Make sure you cash the check at some point, they're only good for 90 days.

I wouldnt keep it a "check" for too long...they do expire. If anything put it in the bank and dont tell him.

Hmm.. I would do a double check before keeping it a check and losing the money.

The longest I've seen a check good for is 120 days but 90 is average (some as low as 60 days). I do direct deposit for my taxes but I would check and be 100% sure on that, because if that check expires they're not replacing it.

Put it in a savings account and dont have a bank card..less temptation.

I'd also be worried that I would lose the check, this is why I use direct deposit, nothing for me to lose!
