Baby Products That Should Get Invented In 2014

The new year is full of promise … and we wouldn’t mind if brought us inventions that made parenting a little easier! Flip through our photo album to read about baby products that we dreamed up. Yes, they’re fake but we think they have a shot at hitting the market in 2014 — even as practical jokes. Hey, if there is an over-the-door baby holder made for stashing your kid while you wash your hands (yes, there really is!), you just never know

What product do you want to see invented in 2014?

"Whine" – A Baby Cry Translator App

“Whine” – A Baby Cry Translator App

What it does: The new smartphone app can translate a child’s cry — just like Shazam.
Why we want it: Parenting would be a million times easier if we knew why the baby was crying. Hey, kid, we’re not mind readers, you know!

"The Ride-Around" – A Motorized Crib

“The Ride-Around” – A Motorized Crib

What it does: It’s a motorized crib that moves on an indoor track, putting baby to sleep without ever having to step foot outside the house. Just think of all of the sleep you’ll get and the money you’ll save on gas!
Why we can’t wait: We’re exhausted logging so much time in the car trying to get our little ones to sleep. It would be great to finally take our foot off the gas pedal and rest it in bed.

"Tot Toupees" – Wigs for Babies

3 of 6

“Tot Toupees” – Wigs for Babies

What they do: Let babies get wiggy with it with hairpieces just for kids. Hair is woven onto headbands and come in a number of styles from “The Justin Biebs” to “Gaga for Gaga,” so no one will ever wonder if our child is a boy or girl again.
Why we can’t wait: We’ve had the experience of somebody mistaking our little miss for a mister.

"No-Sweat Layette" - A Disposable Full-Body Onesie

4 of 6

“No-Sweat Layette” – A Disposable Full-Body Onesie

What it does: This entire outfit (made out of recyclable materials) can be put straight in the trash post spit-up, blowout or all-out mess … just like disposable diapers. The only problem? With so little laundry to do, what are we going to complain about now?
Why we want it: Great for little pukers who can’t control their reflux and those of us who are tired of spending our “free time” doing laundry.

"Baby Feather Dusters" – Pants That Do Housekeeping

“Baby Feather Dusters” – Pants That Do Housekeeping

What they do: These baby bottoms are fitted with feather duster picker-uppers on the outside so we can let him loose on our floors. Beware of babies who have dust allergies — we’ll have to come up with different chores for those guys.
Why we can’t wait: Our little crawlers could be doing more to help out around the house, right?

"Baby Lojack" – A Child Tracking System

6 of 6

“Baby Lojack” – A Child Tracking System

What it does: Take overprotective parenting to the extreme with the latest in under-the-skin microchip, child-tracker technology. Okay, so this one seems more 2114 than 2014. But we bet it’s coming … some day.
Why we want it: Those child leashes are a little barbaric (well, um, so we’ve heard) and babies are too small to wear one anyway. Some days, it’s nice to be able to helicopter-parent minus the shame — at least minus the public shame.

baby wigs are so weird. The Duggars put fake pigtails on their bald baby and I thought it was so odd when I'd watch ]the show.
