Many of you know that my dad had a stroke in December and was moved to a nursing home which Medicare has decided to stop paying for. We have been paying out of pocket to keep him there for a few more weeks so he can get the intensive physical therapy so he can be able to do basic task like help get himself in and out of the wheel chair. Today, they just transported him to the ER because he is unable to breath very well. They put him on oxygen at the nursing home and they did an x-ray, no pnuemonia. My dad decided that he doesn't want anything done to him. He refused to open his mouth for the Dr to suction the mucus and he told my mom he wants to die. The doctor suspects he is depressed which is normal for post-stroke patients. I don't know what is going on but I am hoping that they can make him feel more comfortable and we can get him so help for his depression.
It just seems like it just keeps getting harder and harder.
