Been introducing my son to some old friends...

Lucy, Edmund, Susan, Peter, and dear old Mr. Tumnus! :-) We started reading The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe together, and it's been so fun to experience the story for the first time through his eyes...

One of my favorite things as a parent has been sharing favorite childhood stories with my son. This is just the latest in a long line, and he's loved many of the same books that I did.

Do you ever read your favorite childhood books with your kids? Or do you plan to? What are some childhood favorites that you think your children will enjoy?

One of my favorites (and I still have my copy from when I was a kid) is "The Little Leftover Witch".

We just read The Yearling with dgd, just like I did with her dad and uncle.

Shel Silverstein. I loved him as a kid and I've gotten my kids hooked too.

The Wizard of Oz series is amazing. Ds is only 6 and wasn't too into The Marvelous Land of Oz (my favorite book out of the series).

I don't know that story! I'll have to check it out. I have my childhood copy of Charlotte's Web, which made it really special to read that one with my son. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's excited about sharing her childhood "friends"!

Oh, that book gets me every time. I might cry if I read it to DS.
