do you follow this "rule" when eating at the table?  does it matter if your at home or out?  at the kitchen table or the dining room table?  for some reason i was thinking about this the other day.  my parents never made a big deal about it when i was little & i don't with my children.  doesn't bother me if their elbows are on the table when we eat.

It's not something I enforce with my son but I keep my elbows off the table when I'm at home and when we dine out.

No, we don't really follow it. It doesn't bother me either way. I guess I usually keep elbows off the table when out, but I don't say anything to the kids about it

For us it's more just sitting politely at the table. If you practice good manners at home you will remember them when not at home.

It don't really bother me. Out of curiosity, why do ppl consider it rude?

I don't make a big deal out of it. In fact I catch myself doing it something when we're eating out.

I don't care.  I don't see what's wrong with it.  I put my elbows on the table sometimes....

Nope.  Never been a big deal for me. I swear it wasn't a big deal in the Midwest where I was raised.
