For a little while.  We've stayed in a cabin out in the middle of no where to hunt, way up into Canada.  We were 45 miles from nearest anything modern for 6 days.  That was plenty.

not like that no!  i want the running water & indoor plumping.  i could do with solar panels & wind turbines for the energy rather than relying on an electric company.  i'd actually prefer that.  i could even deal without any electricity.  i could learn to like the taste of well water.  but i have no desire to bathe in a creek or walk outside at night to go to the bathroom.

No- we have a cabin off grid. But it has well water, and a generator so it has running water. It's also fueled by propane so it has a full functioning fridge, freezer washer dryer etc. hot water, showers. That's fine by me.

we could also run the generator purely on solar.

it also has full electricity when the generator is on, and we can bring a satellite dish for a tv, and we use our phone as a hotspot if we want the internet.
