I would put it on after grilling. I put lettuce on a lot of things.

Quoting SweetLuci:

I would think the lettuce would get limp and soggy.

Quoting mrswillie: This would be good with lettuce also!
Quoting SweetLuci:

Grilled cheese with bacon & tomato.

Roast beef with lettuce and cucumbers is a favorite of mine.

I gave up sandwiches because of eating the bread. If we go out and they have gluten free bread I will get that. I usually get turkey sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, pickeles, and mayo.

You could use pita bread or bagels instead of bread. Egg salad sandwiches, tuna salad, chicken salad, nutella and jelly, BLT's.

Roast veggies (artichoke hearts, Sweden onions, sweet peppers, tomatoes) you can add cheese if you'd like, on a hearty chibatta bread drizzled with olive oil salt & pepper.

Oh... Or you could do fresh mozzerella, sweet tomatoes and fresh basil w/olive oil salt & pepper

Grilled cheese with bacon, tuna salad, peanut butter and banana. Those are all I can think of right now.
