bacon grease? If so, what do you use it for? Here in the south, we have used it for years to season bland foods, but now I mainly use it for corn bread.

i don't make bacon at home.  much to the dismay of my bacon addict daughter.  even if i did though i don't think i'd save the grease for anything.  as a vegetarian i'd really be limiting myself if i used it for such things as cornbread.

Most of the time...I use it for eggs in the morning.  But cornbread or pancakes taste great with it too.

I used to cook a lot of bacon, and used the bacon fat in lots of things. Great for using to cook fried porkchops, fried potatoes, sauteed onions, sauteed summer squash or zucchini, added to any kind of vegetables, but especially green beans or dried beans like limas or pintos, or in refried beans. Also good to cook pancakes or eggs. Now I don't often cook bacon, so use it mainly in cornbread or fried potatoes.

I have saved it.  I season my cast iron skillets with it.  A little of it tastes good in cornbread.  If I want to make white gravy but I'm not cooking any bacon I'll use my stash.
If I want to fry an egg and the little bacon I cooked didn't render enough grease then I'll use some from my stash.

I think that's about it.

I don't but my husband will. He says it provides the flavor he needs when he cooks-he always has a cup of leftover grease sitting in our fridge.
