My husband says to wash kids' colored clothing in warm water because it washes away dirt better. I say I always wash colors in cold. Who's right? How do you wash?

It depends on your detergent.  I always washed in cold, but the detergent I use now doesn't rinse as well in cold, so I wash in warm.  Definitely use warm if you're using a powdered detergent.

Liquid no dye and fragrance free soap.

Usually your detergent container will help with this.

I do not wash anyone's dark blue jeans in anything other than cold water.

I prefer my whites to be washed in hot water, however, mine and many others with the newer machines, do not get very hot water.  Even though our new washer is one of the lower costs, it still regulates the water temps.  Not real cold, and not real hot.  I don't care for that, but unfortunately was ignorant to the feature, when I purchased the machine.

I feel that cold water doesn't clean very well, I use warm water.
