what time do you start trick or treating?

what time does everyone start trick or treating? (door-to-door)

i say to start at 4 or 4:30 but my hubby thinks that is too early. this is the time i've always started and seems like there are always alot of people out at that time!

what do you all think?

I do not take my children door-to-door.

We go to the city's annual Spooktacular which is from 5-7 pm.

I think our city has a set time as well. 6-8, once it starts getting dark

Our town has a set time to 5-8pm. We started at 5 and was finished at about 5:40.

Our town is from 5-7pm. Some nearby towns are from 4:30-6 or 5-8.

We had kids knocking on the door a little after five pm, I told them they were too early. Another thing I noticed is they say Hi, instead of Trick or Treat.

we go malls but this year we started at 3 for the mall halloween party from 3-8
