Hello all and welcome to the group! Why not take a minute to introduce yourself? Include why you joined the group!
I will start...hehe. My name is Katharine and I'm 24. I started playing in orchestra in elementary school and choose the double bass:) I continued on, ended up getting private lessons, doing state competitions, played in state orchestras, then went away to a private boarding school for the arts called interlochen arts academy. I went to music conservatory in new york city, and ended up playing in 5 orchestras, and backup orchestra music for bands and for movies. I ended up moving out of state and starting chemotherapy, so i wasn't able to keep working a job. But, i still play bass, play piano...and a little bit of cello, guitar, and very poor violin playing...hehe. I love the russian composers:)
Oh, I am thrilled to be a band geek/orchestra dork. I hope my child will be too!
I played the alto sax in middle school and throughout high school. Even touched on oboe in high school. While in high school, I also joined the jazz band, marching band, and school orchestra. Heck, I was such an orchestra dork, I joined an orchestra OUTSIDE of school. :)
I currently teach piano in NYC, and attended Manhattan School of Music for Piano Performance. Music is my absolute passion, and I love sharing that passion.
I am a huge Romantic music fan, and wish that I have more time to play my beloved piano!
hehe you went to MSM? i lived in their dorm for a year even though i was going to mannes...haha. Oh how i miss new york city...hehe

I'm Melissa and I'm 27. I was in both band and orchestra. I started playing violin when I was 6. I continue to play to this day but not in any orchestras or anything. In high school I played in the orchestra and in state orchestras did competitions ect. I also played oboe and clarinet in the band and marching band. I got bored with the violin my sophomore year and switched to playing cello. The music was too easy and I had everything memorized with in 2 weeks of getting it. Iwould love to get back into playing more....I'm bipolar and it helps calm me down. I just don't have the time anymore to do it.........
My Name is Stefanie, I am 24 years old.. I have been playing Viola now for about over 10 years. I played all through elementary-Highschool. I was always 1st chair as long as I can remember. I love playing.. It's been a long while since I have, but still have my Viola. Saving it for my daughter. It's something I enjoyed doing, and I have many trophies, and metals to show my love for it.

Hi everyone. My name is Veronica. I've played flute for 17 years and counting. I'm not as accomplished as the rest of u. I only play for fun not really for competition or state or anything of that nature. I did marching band in middle and high school and my first year in college. I also played in the university orchestra my first year in college. I'm currently a music edu. major and want to share my love with others some day.
We also have a great consultant program if your looking to earn some extra money from home. Just click the banner. Thanks!
hehe its not about who has accomplished more! its about whos having more fun:) lol
Hello everyone!!! My name is Rebecca, I'm 26 and well I don't actually play an instrument right now but I'm looking for a violin teacher as we speak. I told my husband I wanted to learn to play violin so he bought me a violin for my birthday back in January. I ended up pregnant (baby # 2) right after that and it was draining me so bad between the pregnancy, working full time and taking care of my 4 year old that I never had the energy to get started on it. I'm now a full fledged SAHM (except 1 weekend a month I do my Guard thing), so I figured no better time than now to learn. I joined the group in hopes to find other violinists who could help me on my violin journey, you know give me tips and pointers.
Hi everyone. My name is Christina. I am a 23 year old mother of 2.
I was a big band geek in high school taking every band class I could fit into my
schedule. I started playing in elementary with the clarinet. When I got to high school
we needed more trumpet players so I picked up the trumpet. Throughout my time
I took up flute, trombone and played in our honors recorded ensemble playing the
tenor recorder. I loved marching band; it was my favorite. I didn't get to do any
competitions but I did get to attend an awesome "band camp" at Ohio Northern
University. I joined this group to meet other musical momma's and make some friends.
I am fun loving and free spirited.
ok..camps were always soo much fun! lol...i went to eastern music festival...and the high school at interlochen just felt like camp the whole time:) I had always wanted to try marching band...but i didn't think anyone would really go for letting me put my wheel on the end of my bass and attempt to play while wheeling it anywhere...lol
