So sad

I'm on the "Pregnancy" group and a fellow Cafemom member contracted swine flu while pregnant with twin boys.  Another member and her friend had been updated everyone on her....she had gone into a coma and the twins were delivered via c-section prematurely but it was necessary.  The boys are doing better, breathing on their own and such, but sadly the mom, her name was Mandy, passed away from complications of the Swine Flu.

That is so horrible!  How can these beautiful twin babies go on without their mama that they have been listening to and safe with?  How horrible!  Its so hard to deal with this flu!  I can't believe that vaccine is going to employees of big banks on wall street instead of the population that needs it so desperately!  Pregnant women!  I am not pregnant right now, but I wrote to my local health department to tell them they need to pull all pregnant women to the front of the line at these vaccine clinics and get them taken care of FIRST!  Next should be very young children with health conditions, and so on.

Thank you for sharing.  I hope that those who are against vaccination reading this will reconsider...and if they are pregnant, if they aren't willing to help themselves, to hopefully help save their babies.  =0(

My gosh this is terrible!  I am so sorry to hear this.  Unfortunantly alot of pregnant women have lost their lives to this and it just breaks my heart!  I am almost 37 weeks pregnant and am very worried about this.  I don't even want to imagine not being able to hold my baby.  I pray we all can stay safe and healthy.  I also pray for the family and those two little angels who now will grow up without their mom.  It's just so sad.

Oh My  how very sad. My thoughts and prayers are with that family. Why does the swine flu hit pregnant people so hard? Will the babies be ok.?

Vaccines are only part of the problem as even if they got it first in line they wouldn't have been protected til Thanksgiving!  Of course I do believe they tried to get the vaccine made quickly and that's why people are worried.

Overall it's just a damn bad flu, especially for asthmatics and pregnant women.  I feel so bad for that family.  I hope the vaccine can mean no one else loses their mother to this!

That is so sad! And it hits home for me cus I almost died in my coma from the swine flu when I was 8 months pregnant.  And my baby was delivered early by C-section.  We were lucky because we both survived.

I will say big prayers for the twins and their family!!!!!!!!!
