I am new to cafe mom, to be honest I joined to get some insight about H1N1. My husband is very sick, and although my daughter tested negative for H1N1....she is very sick as well. The ill ness hit my husband in less than 12 hours from exposure and it came on very fast. My daughter has taken a little longer. I am very concerned for her. Our pediatrician has started her on Tamiflu (which I am leary about to begin with) but I am MUCH more concerned with her fever. 101.2, 102.4, 104.1 now. I have been giving her Tylenol around the clock but it only brings it down for a little while. And now I am reding about children whom have developed issues with O2 levels....Please if any of you have any insight or remedies to help ease this VERY WORRIED moms' mind.....
I am so sorry I am just getting to respond back now. I have been MIA due to many personal issues including my baby who was a premies ilnesses related to her early birth.
First off, your daughter could still have swine flu even if she tested neg. the test is not 100%. With both your husband and daughter the most important things to watch for is dehydraton and respitory problems. Swine flu can turn respitory quickly and be very serious. my advice qwould be to bring your daughter husband to the doc ASAP if they seem dehydrated or are having trouble breathing. I would love to help out more if you have more specific questions.
