Thanks for joining our New Media Challenge! Your first assignment is to give yourself a pat on the back!

You deserve it because you're already using new media to make your life better by being part of this challenge on CafeMom!

Tell us in the replies how long you've been a member of CafeMom and what you like best about it!

Never go to the store without checking the store's website first!

They likely have coupons listed online that you may even be able to combine with in-store offers -- score! Fan them on Facebook and you could even get exclusive deals! Some Facebook pages you might want to fan (if you haven't already!): Target, Walmart, The Home Depot, and Best Buy.

What stores do you search online? Are you a fan of any retailers on Facebook? Tell us in the replies!

There's an app for everything these days, and why not use them to make your life easier? Today's activity: go digital with your to-do list!

Get your whole list in one place -- where everything else is, too! -- your phone! This way you can easily see your list and check things off without having to dig for your pen and paper. Try Remember The Milk, an app that allows you to make lists and access them from anywhere, integrate them with your calendar, and set up task reminders -- pretty sweet!

How do you currently manage your to-do list? If you're already using an app, which one is it? Any words of wisdom for app newbies? Please share!

Or give it away! Today's New Media Challenge activity is to clear out your clutter with a little help from the Web!

Got things you don’t want or need? Post ‘em on Craigslist or eBay, or advertise them on your local Freecycle exchange. You’ll be green, and might even make some green, too!

Have you ever sold anything online? Any great tips for other moms?

Many of us don’t have the time, or money, to print pictures -- not to mention buy and store all sorts of scrapbooking gear. So why not utilize the Web? Today's activity is to organize your family photos by year, event, child etc. and then spend time reminiscing together in front of the computer!

Do you take lots of photos of your family? Tell us your tips for organizing and sharing pictures!

Nobody writes a good old-fashioned letter anymore but that doesn't mean you can't stay in touch with old friends and far-away family. Today's New Media Challenge activity is to catch up on correspondence, electronically!

Write an email to your parents, far-away family members, or even your best friend -- just because! Use email to keep loved ones up to date on you and your family. The days of computers seeming impersonal are over -- use yours to bring you closer to the people you love.

Do you often email with family and friends? Do you ever write real letters anymore?

Today's activity comes to us from the Go Digital, Get Organized Challenge: Get your finances in order, online! Start by:

Then when you have time, go through any and all of the papers, statements, notices, receipts, etc. that you have and separate them into three piles: file, toss, and shred. Then file, toss and shred! :)

How do you currently manage your finances? Any great tips to share?

Today's activity is a fun one! Sign up for the newest social media craze, Pinterest, an online "pinboard" where you can keep track of all great stuff you find on the internet -- and share it! You can organize what you find into categories like craft, design, cooking, etc! Warning: It's a bit addictive.

Have you tried Pinterest yet? How do you currently keep track of what you find online?

Start a blog! Everybody's doing it!

It can be a personal journal where you chart your emotions, dreams, worries, frustrations, triumphs etc., or a history of your family as they grow that you can share with them later, a place to spout political opinions, post recipes and cooking tips, show off your photography, or any other passion you have! If you're not sure where to begin, here's a handy how-to!

What would you (or do you!) blog about? What are your favorite blogs to follow?
