Okay guys he left yesterday, airport security was kind enough to let us ( my three kids and I) go beyond the check point and stay with him at the gate. Thanks to the recruiter which told us that if you show the order and our military ID's they let us through :)

So I felt like half of me was being ripped off.

His plane left on time from here. with a connection in Atlanta but arrived Atlanta 10 minutes late to find out it was 10pm and there were no more flight at all in any airline going to San Antonio and he had to wait from 10pm yesterday. So he had to sleep in the airport on a chair till the next flight at 10:45am this morning, he finally arrived San Antonio around 12 noon. and that was the last time that I heared from him :(

What a way to start BMT! I felt so bad he couldn't reach anyone to see if they can give them a hotel room or something the only thing the airline offered $50 discount voucher but nothing free and of course no srgt would pickup their phones at that time.

Anyway I'm trying to stay positive for him so he can be worry free.

I also had a great experience at Patrick Air Force base during out processing... they were really nice gave us a lot of information and male srgt did the in processing, and one female srgt interviewed my husband ask alot of things about us (the family) even asked if he was going to miss any birthdays or annyversay's and she made note of my 4 year old who's turning 5 in February. She also spoke to me and said she will be in contact with me to check up on me and advised if had any problems at all of any kind to contact her. She gave the kids alot of goodies and books on Daddy's Deployment. She invited me to base activities and even offered if I'd be interested in  a helicopter or plane ride :)   my over all experience was great at our home base.

Now I just keep busy and time will fly in no time.

Wow! My experience with the out processing was NOTHING like that. No one said anything to me at all except that I could sit in the back of the room while they did paperwork.

I am so glad you had a good experience with in/out processing, it is definitly a hit or miss with them. I am sure the time will fly for you. I felt like Nov & Dec just flew by and then Jan dragged on forever, so I think there are times that seem longer then others. I am glad and impressed that they gave you stuff for the kids, most times you have to go to ACS to get that kind of stuff.
