My 2 boys had a doctor appt last week and the doctor had the swine flu mist available so they got it. The doctor recommended it. My 5yr old daughter hasn't gotten it and neither have I. Not sure if we will...

I got the seasonal flu shot at work (I am a nurse and really think that it is important; unfortunately our facility will not be getting H1N1 in, so I doubt I'll be able to get that). My two older boys both got their season flu shot and the H1N1. My baby will be 6 months on 12/9 and we have an appoitment for his 6 month check, so I am sure he'll get the shots then if they have them.
My kids got their regular flu shots. I did not- Since netiher H1N1 NOR regular flu shots are tested on pregnant women..
Neither of my kids will be getting the H1N1. Thier peditrician says they don't feel comfortable offering it since they just don't know enough about it. She said we could go elsewhere for it, but wouldn't reccommend it. Sot hey won't be getting that one.
My son got the seasonal flu shot this month but we will not be getting the swine because my son really isn't around a lot of kids who get sick or a day care baby.

My kids aren't getting either shot. They've never had the seasonal flu vaccine - they never seem to have it when we go for our yearly appointments in September and I never bother going back. They do get all of their other vaccines.
Our pediatrician didn't recommend against them but said they were probably not necessary since my kids weren't in any kind of preschool or daycare at all (except my 15 year old). My 15 year old could have gotten it at school but we didn't sign the approval.
I don't really think its necessary. There isn't a lot of H1N1 in NJ (they say we may have some immunity since we got hit worst in the Spring) and even then, the statistics are crap. They are no longer testing for H1N1 - if someone comes in with symptoms that somewhat match - they are calling it swine flu. And there seems to be a lot more side effects with this shot than with the normal vaccines.
Never did the flu shot (ever) and have no plans to. Don't feel it is effective enough.
