Yesterday Baby Sister (18) saw a post about Chris Christie lowering the flags for Whitney Houston. And had this to say:
People use face book to vent talked to friends and family and grieve for loved ones who were lost. Lets use it for patriotism. I want to see how many people actually care about those who care about us and our country. Find a picture of a soldier or veteran that you know alive or dead and post it as your profile picture. This is not something i found on the Internet or someone else ask me to re post.this is something i just came up with two minutes ago sitting in my sisters living room. People say they support the troops and don't show it. here's your chance....lets see who really cares....hope I'm not wasting my time
Not only did all 3 of us sisters change our photos but also my parents and at least 50 ppl friends and family so far changed theirs to support our military-past and present.
Chris Christie-you should be ashamed-lowering the flag for someone who didn't even do any of the things that the men and women of our military has done. I get she's one of the greatest singers. But she's not a hero in my eyes. And only true heroes should have that sign of respect!

There are 20 more family members past and present retired/active military. 1 died in Vietnam. Where were their flags? How about the thousands that fly home in their caskets every day. We should show respect to those who deserve it.
Not a famous singer. She should have gotten it only if she served or did something extremely well worthy.

I do not think the flag should be lowered. I'm sorry she died, but she is a celebrity, not a hero who needs to be honored. Give me a break.
I 100% agree!!! There is another post about this on here.. and I has mentioned in that one.. when will he announce the lowering of the flag for the North Arlington Marine who just died in Afganastan??? he was so quick to announce it for her.. North Arlington is lowering theirs but it has not been announced as a state wide lowering at all by him yet!! When I see my nations flag lowered in mourning, it for damn sure better represent a hero not a performer!
My family has members of all the military-Air Force/Army/navy/Marines etc-so I know where my loyalties lie. My sister is only 18-still in high school-she just joined JROTC and she thinks it's the best thing ever and can not wait to join up and serve.
She's very patriotic and she was very pissed off to hear that Chris Christie would do such a thing. This man has some platinum balls for pulling a stunt like this.
The flag only should be lower for fallen heros not for a any celebrity. He is an a*****.

your welcome and i have this picture as my cover photo on my face book page. my dad fought in the veitam war and i have many friends who have fought or fighting over this. this is the best way to honor our fallen heros.
