I'm going to guess they used spray adhesive.

 I love them!!! i want to make a few from beer and wine bottles so theya re different sizes and put them up above my kitchen cabinets. :) i bet they are a biotch to dust though

 hmmm think they started at the top or bottom?? i really want to get the yarn on saturday when im at michaels and try one of therse! SO when Im hammered on here friday night dont judge i just needed to collect beer and wine bottles for this project! ;)

 hmmm just found a tutorial that says they used mod podge
