What's the most expensive thing you ever bought with your tax return?
Mine has been furniture, but we also used it towards Disney the first time we took the kids years ago. It would be nice to say we put it in the bank, but we seem to always need it for something!
We mostly pay bills with ours; a time a two we took some of it and put it toward vacation.
We took our family of nine to Disneyland last year with tax return money.
We're a blended family so it's hard to get the schedules lined up so that we can all travel and do something like that at the same time. All of our vacations since Dh and I got married 7 years ago have had different groups of our kids, but never all seven of them together. Not for a vacation.
My oldest graduated high school in 2011 and we realized that the perfect time just wasn't going to happen and we needed to make it happen while we could still do it. The kids got all of their school assignments done in advance and we took a week and went to California- all 9 of us- together.
We found out just after we got back from that trip that DH was being transferred to NYC.
We should have paid bills, we should have fixed cars, but I am so glad that we blew the tax return on that trip. It was one of the best weeks of my life and one of the funnest memories we have made as a family.
This year......we're paying bills, LOL.
We rarely receive a return. We usually owe. Hubby freelances in addition to his primary job.
Now that just STINKS!!! =(
