ladies when do you start decorating for the holiday's/ we start the on black friday..
The first or second week in December usually. I buy a real tree and don't want to buy it too early. I also have a Christmas village that I put up and it takes a long time to get it up, so I usually procrastinate! I sound like Ebenezer Scrooge, don't I?

lol -with the rain and the wind that we have been having i was so bored and was looking to take them down and start going thru them..just seems christmas comes faster and faster..when i was a kid it took forever for it to get here.
Dec 20th is the designated day for us , do,nt care if it,s week or weekend , I always have cookies and hot cocoa on hand to be enjoyed during the decorating . One time the kids talked me into putting the tree up day after thanksgiving , never again , by the time the big day got here I was so sick of looking at that tree I did,nt know what to do . So we went back to original date.
Decorations go up during the first week of December. We usually put up the tree week before Christmas. We get a real one and the apartment heat dries it out pretty quickly.
lizmarie1975i love the smell of real tree and the girls love to go out east to pick one out..however we use to have a cat that climbed into it and drink the water..on christmas morning we woke up to the tree on the floor.never again..enjoy your tree..im jealouse
i have a fake tree and it goes up the day of thanksgiving..I look forward to it every year. My husband has never helped me put up the tree before or decorate it..the one I have iot a pain in the butt to put together...the color tabs on teh branches ( each layer had a different color ) they are falling off...=) I have had that tree for about going on 5 years now. My parnets have a fake tree they will be getting rid of soon it is 20 years old and it is falling apart...lol I remember the first Christmas we put it up...=)
My DH and brother got up on the roof last Sunday to put up the lights and they finsihed putting out the plastic things on Monday (the 15/16). However, we will not turn them on until after Thanksgiving Dinner. Then out tree will go up this weekend if Potters opens early (we used to go to Chernagins (sp) but I am not paying $50+ anymore for a tree that is going to become mulch).... if not our tree and inside decorations will wait until the 7th.

We usually start after our Black Friday shopping. We might not get it finished for a few days, but we at least get it started.
