Alex did not qualify for services. Catch-22. I am happy as I had no idea how we would work it into our schedule, but he does have a delay.
Under age 3 they combine Comprehension with Articulation for an average. His Comprehension (both expressive and receptive) is so high, that it didn't offset his articulation. They suggest evaluating him again after July 1 when the new school year starts, or closer to his Birthday in October when he will officially be 3.
Until then... continue modeling the word correctly (ya, think... lol) and hope for the best.
At least I don't have my head under a rock... now to listen to my therapist friends shriek that he didn't qualify.

I'm sorry he didn't qualify for any programs. Maybe when he gets into school?
Beacuse he will be 3 before Dec. 1st, he can be evaluated by the school district as a preschooler after July 1. At that division they seperate the two language skills, if they could seperate the skills today (under EI) he would quaify.
I don't want to wait until he's in Kindergarten. I've seen what can happen if a parent "puts it off" or just isn't aware, and it's much harder to correct.

That is great that he did good maybe by July he'll be so good with his words he'll not need it:)

I did notice how he leaves off the first letter of words, but I could understand him pretty well. At least you are aware of it and know to work with him...and he's only two. Sing songs with him and have him sing with you, read lots of books together, get him involved in conversations, ask him lots of questions. I always talk about the silliest things with my kids but it's just to keep them thinking and involved in conversation.
