how are youI am a mom and grandma from the Syracuse area.  I haven't been on in a while due to many factors, but am hoping to get back more often.  Biggest problem has been stress and depression, but I am hoping to work harder on these issues and maybe be able to make some friends here.  I just became consultant for a gift basket/cookie bouquets/flower basket company and am trying to get the word about that out.  I have made some business cards, got a website and hope this turns around my luck.  Don't really have any friends either, which I am well aware of since my life is so bad.  I would love friends that care about me like I care about others, but in todays society, I don't think there are too many out there.  I am also wanting to learn to sew, knit and crochet to give myself more opportunites.  Hope all of you have a great day.  Thanks for "listening"

Hi welcome back. I'm also in the Syracuse area. Tell us more about the gift basket/cookie bouquet/flower basket company. I'm glad you're taking steps in the right direction for yourself. There are a few moms in this group that crochet/knit/sew.

Hi and welcome back. This is a great group of women who care about one another, I'm sure you will fit right in.

As for learning how to crochet. YouTube has some wonderful tutorials. I've gone on there to learn a few things and love it.

There is also a group here called crocheting moms and they are more than willing to help if you have any questions and there are also beginning videos posted within that group.

Good luck in your business venture and keep your head up.

Thanks ladies for the encouragement.  I contacted a few groups, and today, I contacted Channel 9 to get some info on advertising on their programs.  My website is www.basketsofhappiness.com.  It is Labella Baskets= it is taking time to get the word out, and I don't believe I have had too many people looking at my website, but I am plugging away at it.  A friend of mine works at Syracuse University, so she told her office about my business.  Hopefully, the 3 or 4 times a year  they send baskets/bouquets out, they will use my site.  I am also contacting some groups to see if they would like to do a fundraiser through me.  If anyone knows of a group that wants to do a fundraiser, have them contact me.  I know that with any new adventure and business, it takes time and money to get it going.  Also, alot of networking.  I appreciate all of the listening and help.  I did go on youtube and looked at some tutorials-thanks.  @lish - where about in Syracuse area - I live more toward Chittenango, Minoa area.

I'm in Liverpool. Your website looks great! I'm in a moms meetup group of about 160 moms from the cny area and around the end of May or early June we have a member's brunch where we have a raffle. We get donations and sponsorship from a variety of businesses and photographers in the area and then we raffle them off. If you are interested in donating a basket or sponsoring our group let me know. I could do my best to get your name out there. Or if you have other fundraiser ideas that might work for a group like this let me know.
