If ur kid was at a playdate, you had never met the family, and you were supposed to pick ur kid up at 5:30. What time would you be there or call?

Glad it worked out! For the first one, I would still ask to stay for awhile to feel the situation and such. If I felt comfortable, I might leave or offer that the next one was one parent or the other. And I NEVER would think to leave my child with another adult without getting a number. Mine are still young, but I am confident that will be a rule for life. Poor babies! But my 4 yo just had a play date with a friend from preschool and the mom and I talk every school day, but still stayed. But when he gets more comfortable, I may consider him going over for a bit alone. But I would be there 10-15 min early for pick up. And in the case of your son's friends mom, had the number to call and explain the situation!
