Is there something that you buy that you swear by the name brand even if it is available generically?
John will only use Hellmans Mayonaise, and Heinz Ketchup.
I am expensive in my snobness: Charmin TP, Tide detergent, and Downy softner. Then again that is mainly due to allergies.
Everything else is store brand unless the brand name is onsale and I have coupons.
My shampoo, face scrub etc is brand names, but I only get it when I need it and have a coupon.
I agree with the other ladies about the Hellman's Mayo. I was only buying Heinz ketchup until recently...now I buy generic but I squeeze the generic into the Heinz bottle and I'm the only one that knows the difference.
Off the top of my head, Cheerios. I buy 99% generic cereals because Wegman's cereals are very good, but generic Cheerios just don't cut it. Something weird about their texture.
I have nothing against generic mayo (I mix it with sour cream anyway) or ketchup (I don't eat ketchup, and nobody else complains). I use Tide, and brand name cookies (Oreos, Keebler's, Chips Ahoy).
