Are there things to do?? Places to go with the kids?
There is not that much to do were we live. You have to go out an hour or more in order to do something. There are not that many stores either and the mall here is VERY small! It is such a big change for us since we came from a big city. My husband told me that most military posts don't have anything around, LOL.

We live in Ft. Lewis, WA and I really love it here. The thing I like the most is how beautiful it is in this area. It is so green and I get to walk out every day and see a beautiful, huge mountain (volcano). It isn't too far of a drive to Seattle. It only takes about a couple of hours to get to the ocean. We have driven up to Canada. There is just so much to see in this area. If you are outdoorsy, there is plenty to do around here.
As far as indoor stuff, my kids and I love to rollerskate and there are plenty of skating rinks around. So, that keeps us happy. Of course, there are malls and all of that stuff as well. With Seattle so close, you can pretty much find anything that interests you though.

I came from ft.stewart, ga. i hated it there and i'm from the south so i thought i would love it...but i just dont like GA. Now were at Ft. Riley, KS and i LOVE it. its got enough for us to do. Its just reallly pretty here! Theres zoo's around here and museums and parks. Concerts come here more often. Theres big cities only like 2 hours or so away. Its really nice....

Who could hate this?! so pretty!!

We are at Ft. Belvoir. So we're in the DC metro area. I didn't think I would like it here but we really do. There is so much to do around here. Museums, monuments, etc. So much to see and do.
I am so jealous of you Ft Lewis girls! I grew up in Lakewood, and I totally miss MY mountain!!! (Mt Rainier!) When we were at a base, it was Camp Pendleton, so there were millions of things to do: LA was an hour away, so there was all that and Disneyland, Universal Studios and all! Then San Diego was 1/2 hour away, so there is the zoo and Wild Animal Park. The beach was minutes away, the mountains weren't far. I miss it! We are now on recruiting duty in Connecticut! There is still stuff to do around here, I just have to work harder to find it! Today we went up to Massachusetts and went to the Yankee Candle Factory. New York City is about an hour away, so that has been fun.

Sure, I guess.I'm home. We are back at Ft. Bragg. There is stuff to do around here, but out of town, too. Chapel Hill, Cary, Raleigh. They opened a Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, about 2.5 hours from here.
we are at MCAGCC and it really sucks. now the only good things are that in four hours i can drive to palm springs, san diego, la and vegas. but i miss my home town, here the malls and everything are really far away. but we do have a crappy walmart
