Where are you? Where have you been?

Sorry if there has already been a post like this.

Where are you currently stationed?  Where have you been, and what duty station has been your favorite?

Right now we are at Fort Knox. We just got here in Sept. and i'm having a horrible time making friends. Almost everyone who works with my husband all came from a unit move from fort Hood (we did not) so they all already know each other.

So far weve been stationed at Fort Lewis (which was beautiful) and Vilseck, Germany (SO glad to be out of there!!) I deffinately like Kentucky the best out of the three.

I was also born on Fort Gordon and grew up there and know the area like the back of my hand. lol

We are in Ft.Hood right now, this is our first duty station so we haven't live anywhere else with the military. We came from Orlando,FL but we have lived in CT and my DH has lived in NY. So far, I'm not liking it here too much but at least DH is home! =)

We are currently at Whiteman AFB in missouri (aka misery) we dont like it, we both came from middle of no where small towns and never wanted to go back and then got sent here...but first duty station was in D.C. ..Bolling AFB..DH was USAF Honor Guard and we LOVED the base!! alot of people complain about traffic and not liking the city, but many dont realize or appreciate what it is until they are smack dab in the middle of no where..lol we had like 3 malls with in 5 minutes of us in D.C. and anything and everything you could think of was right there..and there was always so much to do, we really enjoyed it...and where we live now, the nearest mall is almost an hour and a half away, the ONLY thing we have is a walmart..the nearest target is over an hour away as well, along with anything you can think of lol, it gets very boring and lonely since DH is deployed..if I didnt have friends I dont know what i would do! lol..

and I must add..people think its more expensive to live in the city but thats soo not true! lol with the military the BAH is always WAY more then enough to live on, and in D.C. we actually made money off of it, and since everything was right there we didnt have to drive ways away to get to places..its actually more expensive for us to live here, because anytime we need to go to the store we have to waste a ton of gas to get there, since nothing is within a convenient distance, and our BAH is so low here that the only real option is to live on base unless you want to pay out of pocket for utilities and some of the rent

We're at Ft. Riley, KS right now. we came from Ft. stupid..i mean Stewart, GA. We hated that place. We're from South Alabama so its not like it was way different from home. just i really hate GA, the area sucked, crime was bad, it was trashy looking. Just all around hate it. We are loving riley though its freaking awesome so far. We've been here for like 4 months or so. Love it here. Just havent really met any friends...waiting on DH to deploy so i can actually have a vehicle to meet people haha!

We are currently at Moody AFB, GA. We have also been stationed at Malmstrom AFB, MT and when I was living with my parents we lived at Hahn AFB, Germany and then Edwards AFB, Cali. We are about to be living at Kirtland AFB, NM...we are scheduled to be there the end of March.

I was at MCAS Beaufort with my ex husband.  Not really the best place, but it started to grow on you after a while and it wasn't too bad.

We've been to Fort Carson.  Loved it there.  So much to do and absolutely beautiful.  We love colorado.

We're currently at Fort Belvoir, VA.  I love the post here.  It's really pretty, housing is nice and the area has a lot to do.  But the traffic in the DC area is crazy.

We're getting ready to go to Ft. Lewis next month for 10 months then off to who knows where.

Our first Duty Station was Fort Riley kansas !! we were there from 1998-2002 then we pcs'd to Schofield Barraks Hawaii!! 2002-2005 I LOVED IT!!! i would go back in a heart beat ! then we went back to riley and bought ahouse there then found out we were pscing to Fort huachuca!! AZ!!! I love it here too but know seems to be very social but that is ok I will find friends eventually!! I love it here !! we have been very blessed that the posts we have been to have always been nice and we have made the most of them

san diego was my favorite.  i was a teenager, and that was the best time in my life.  not to mention i met the boy who would become my husband and the father of my son.  : )
