the making appointments all depends on the command..even with EFMP..my BIL still gets sent TDY (my nephew has LCH and has been on and off chemo the last 3 years) his command has been pretty good about giving him time off for dr.'s ... for HIM EFMP keeps him near the hospital that my nephew is being seen at and will keep him stationed near a major children's hospital at ALL times...
OK my youngest son is epileptic. so we have been efmp for almost 4 yrs now what it does is help you get the "special " services your daughter will be it to see a doctor off base that will help her and it helps with tricare they tend to not have any problems getting stuff done on time. There will be a pretty big packet of paperwork it is not too bad and there is some forms for the dr to fill out. with EFMP it just means mainly that when your husband comes on orders to pcs or anything where the "Whole" family has to move they look to make sure that the services you need are local if not they will not alow you to pcs and will change the orders or revoke them completely. as for your husband getting time off for appointments that is up to his command not efmp and it willnot effect deployment unless it is life or death. if you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask.
