Hey ladies,
So we found out my husband is getting orders to Germany when he gets back from his deployment. So we need to find housing( In Ft.Hood) for like only 3 months, we dont really want to go through the hassle of getting electric/water... everything turned on and what because before he leaves we're going to take pcs leave and go to minnesota, he'll be flying out of there and i'll be staying in mn until after june because i have a huge family wedding and what not. Does anyone know of somewhere or have any ideas? We thought about living with someone but his friends are all pcsing too and I dont know anyone down there right now.

Can you get the temporary housing on post?? Wait, I think it's only for 30 days... I'm sure they have places where they do leases month to month. Not sure were though. What did you have in mind since you don't want to pay water/electricity??

We're not sure, he just doesnt want to go through all the hassle when we already have to deal with some other stuff... We were thinking even if they have hotels that have the weekly rates like they have here in the DFW area. we dont really want to rent an apartment because we'll be shipping things over and stuff. Damn this moving overseas just doesnt sound like fun lol

I asked my husband and he said that it takes forever to get in a place as it is and we'll only be there for 3 months they wont want to deal with that.

I have seen some hotels that have weekly rates but they don't seem that nice. There is not much here. It just depends on how much you are willing to spend per month. The waiting list on housing is ridiculous here, it depends on the rank too. For Jr Enlisted is an 18 month wait. Not sure what else you could do....
I think you can post on craigslist for looking for apartments, and in your post, say your looking for a 3 month utility included lease. Or, look on craigslist for a month to month??
I'd go the the housing office and see just in case. Some places have waiting lists, others don't.

There's a whole section on Craigslist for temporary or sublet housing. I think that would probably be the best bet. You could rent a motel room by the week, but it gets very expensive and crowded. We did that in California for 4 months, and while I don't regret being near my dh, it was hard. Good luck finding somewhere!
