..to make reservations for a place to stay for family weekend? It is still over a month away. I checked the cancellation policy. I have to cancel (if family weekend is taken away) at least 14 days before to get a full refund. They should know before then if they are getting the weekend taken away, right? I mean, unless they mess up with in the last 2 weeks.

Places fill up pretty quickly, so I'd probably just go ahead and book a room. If an issue comes up, you can see about switching the days instead of just cancelling the reservation. My dad made ours around a month out of graduation/family day.

Definitely better to be safe than sorry when it comes to getting a hotel for military functions. They can fill up super quick.

Army. Ft Benning. In the letter they call it family day/mid cycle pass. A guy I work with who was in keeps calling it family weekend so that is what is stuck in my head. lol

I would definitely book now.  And, I don't know if you've ever been to Benning, but I wouldn't stay on Victory Dr.  It scares me.  There are also little cabins on post, that's where we stayed when we went there this past summer for the Rendez-vous.

I was looking at this place:

I can't tell if its on base or right off it. I found it through one of the sites in the letter they sent.
