So, I am going back to school for my BA! YAY! Now I just need to figure out how to pay for it lol.

Since we are all female, moms, and military wives I thought this would be a good group to get advice from.

We don't qualify for the transfer of GI Bill benefits. Do you ladies know of any grants, scholarships etc for military wives/moms? I already submitted my FASFA and my EFC is 04054 * C...what does that mean???

Thanks all!!

There is $6000 scholarship through MyCAA for active duty spouses.  It just has to be used for a "portable" career.  And, other than that just apply for eveyrthing you can find.  Do you have access to an education center on post?  They would be able to help.

I'm planning on going back to school soon for my BA to be a Dietician and I want to become a personal training too.  So, I will be using everything they will give me.

You're off to a good start getting the FAFSA in. There is also the MyCAA that was mentioned by the PP. There is information on Military Onesource about that, and maybe you can find other information there about any specific grants or loans. Good luck.

MyCAA is amazing! It's paying for my Associate's completely!

I wonder if there is anything out there to assist with a masters degree, or a second bachelor's degree

I've applied for as many scholarships as I could possibly find that I was qualified for. Also, MyCAA gives you $6000 for certain careers. I got lucky and found a school that has a military scholarship which basically cuts the tuition in half! Good luck and congrats on going back!

way to go

Check with the OCSC. I know the one at Ft Knox offers a scholarship for spouses continuing their education.  I would guess other posts do as well.

your EFC "expected family contribution" is what the govt is assuming you should be able to able to pay for school that year whether you are paying out of pocket or by getting student loans.  if your tuition for that year exceeds your EFC, then theoretically that is the amount they should be offering to cover for you.
