Strange message on FB

I just got a message on FB from a girl that I don't know.  The subject line said sisters?  Anyway,  she asked if my parents happend to be So & So my last name and did they have any children named so & so my last name.  She said she was looking for them because they were sisters.  It's not me because my last name is my married last name.  I wonder if she was adopted or something.  Kind of odd...

Be careful, it could be a scam. I've heard lots of weird stories about this sort of thing recently.

I thought about that too.  The girl's last name in the from portion is not my last name, but in the message, she says Hi, I'm name then my last name, so I don't know.

I'd chalk it up to a scam and delete it.

You could tell her to contact Troy Dunn, The Locator. Does anyone watch that show? Geez, I need a tissue every time I see it.

I got a message like that once. Someone looking for family members with my last name (which was my married name). She told me the most interesting story of how she was looking for members of this particular Jewish family who emmigrated to Canada and ended up taking my married surname as their own in order to escape anti-semitism (it was a very German last name). Anyway, it was just interesting to hear some of this person's history.

Enough of my rambling ... LOL

Have a good one, ladies!

I would hate for her to be legit and looking for her family but be written off as a scam, but it is really hard to know. Good luck :)

I'd ask a few question see whats going on there if you think she's linked to your husbands family. If not just say sorry you got the wrong person. And if she asked for money you know not to fall for it. I mean its not like she can hurt you or anything.
