okay, yesterday I made a post about my husband recieving an email about the duty preference. great, right? Well apparently branch management will be here next week and will be talking to the people that have been here for 3 + years. they want them out. ok, fine. hubby will be here for two years in July. Well they have been going to the field alot, and are scheduled for NTC in May. Today the commander said they will be eligible for deployment in July. what does this sound like to you? Do you think he was givng us a heads up? My husband and I think they will be deploying soon. ANy ideas? I just hate the run around that we seem to be getting, its like no one knows anything, the commander said two months ago that the unit was on a three year stand down. so IDK>
I bet your DH is fenced in for the deployment and won't be leaving.
My DH was told by his branch manager after he got orders cancelled b/c of EFMP that he could choose to go somewhere as long as there were slots and then he ended up not being able to b/c he is fenced in for the next deployment. I think it's AKO that he can see if he's fenced in and I'm pretty sure on his LES he could too. But I'm not so sure on the second part. My DH will end up being here at Drum for 5 years.

see that is where it gets tricky here, they have been fenced in since they came home Nov of 2008! They said last month that the fence will be lifted but it is still in place. (I check daily)

right now it is just his pltn going to NTC, which I know can easily change. I guess it is a waiting game. they are going to help "train" those that are going to go there for training. I know wierd when they have soldiers there already, they started to send equipment yesterday already
Quoting amberdy:It sounds like he's getting ready to deploy. They don't send them to NTC and then not deploy them from my experience.
The military is so idiotic sometimes. Hopefully he'll get orders so you guys can get out of there.

I agree with the others, sounds like a deployment. Sorry. Good luck with whatever happens.
They change plans all the time. My husbands unit was not supposed to deploy again until 2011. Well things changed and they are deploying a year to the date that they got back last year. My husband is supposed to be going to recruiter school instead of deploying, but it will depend on his unit. I hope that you guys can get a new duty station.
