We have tricare prime. I have a referal to see a kidney spec in the city due to kidney disease. well when I got out of the Army in March 2008, I went and got a referal to see this Doc. well turns out the I was on standard for 90 days but I was still prime under my husband. well i go and see this spc,, then a few months later I get a bill, I call tricare they say it is fine. so I forget about it. then the collectors start calling. so I go up to the office and tell them that I am prime, nope I was standard. so they redo the paper work twice! I got the ok, that everything was taken care of last month. well I just got a phone call from the collectors. this is bringing my credit down! Sorry I just needed to vent! I am on the phone with tricare now.
It took me 6mo to get Tricare to take care of my GI bill..I go see a GI Spec..They kept saying they will take care of it and kept saying they did, and I kept calling a couple of times a month and they never touched it..FINALLY the 6th month I threatened that my hubby's COC will get in the middle of this and that got them to fully fix it LOL..Tricare I love BUT they are screw ups alot of the time..
I have to call the creditor again to find out the exact amounts. so i m trying that now.

That stinks! The only issue I've had so far was an ambulance bill. I kept getting bills in the mail and calls. The first time I looked at it said I didnt have insurance... I called the hospital and gave them my Tricare info... then I kept getting bills. I call again and they say that Tricare didnt deny the claim, but they hadnt paid it either... GREAT. Call Tricare and they say they never recieved anything from the hospital... eventually it got sorted out but it was a pain to deal with!
That happened to me just recently as well. Come to find out they had billed tricare under my social security number and they kept denying coverage since i was under my hubby. So when i went to the office I was pretty firm about looking at the bills on the screen myself. all I had to do was call the billing and tell them the correct social to file under and eerything was fine after that.
Hopefully that helps and you get it figured out. I was in the exact same boat for the same thing actually.
okay, I have to get a letter from the collectors, (which I have to send them a fax for it?) I have to fill out paper work from tricare and amail everything in. they said I may be responsible for some of it. which will make me mad, since it was not my fault. so I guess we will wait and see. there are still bills from the twins that havent been resolved, because the ins will not pay for the same procedure for the same baby? I keep telling them there are two, we get the same thing for dental.
but I guess I can not complain at least we have insurance.
I am fighting with them over the same stuff. I am so tired of dealing with them!
