A series of random questions?

Today I was picking my girls up from school like every other day.  A man was there, who I've seen a hundred times before, but never talked to.  As I was getting the girls into the car he came up to me and said "Isn't your husband that military guy?".  I simply said "yes, he is".  Then he starts asking me a hundred questions "is he a Sergent?", "are you stationed at the base", "do  you have access to the base?", "isn't he a recruiter?",  "what did he do before he was a recruiter?", "where have you been stationed?".  The questions went on and on until I said I had to get the girls home.  It was so out of left field that it's been on my mind since.  My dh doesn't have any extra security clearance, he doesn't have a top secret job or anything like that but the whole asking about base access and dh's rank has me uneasy.

Am I over reacting? Was this just a man showing interest the military?

IDK, but that's really odd and creepy!

To me it sounds like he is interested. Any easy way to tell, would've been outright asking why he was asking you so many questions. LOL

That is a little creepy... But maybe he is just curious? I dunno.

That's kind of weird. Hopefully just curious.

I think he's just curious.  People ask me about my husband's unit a lot.

Technically, all of that is OPSEC protected. Just tlel the crazy man that.

Also, I've run into this before, and 50% of the time it's because the guy was in himself a while back.

Thanks for the replies.  I'm sure he was just curious, but they way he approached me was kind of off.  He waited until I was at my van instead of starting a conversation with me up at the school.  Then he didn't even say hello, he said "isn't your husband that military guy".  That just got my guard up, I guess.

We'll see what happens tonight when I pick the girls up.

I've had the same thing happen, but not with a stranger, a family member, because he was interested in the military and I was the only person he could think of to talk to.

When we go back home to California people are very interested in my husband, but here nobody cares, maybe he wants to join.
