Hi everyone! Just found we are going to Ramstein AB, Germany this summer. (This is our first move in the AF, and it had to be OCONUS!) We don't have orders in hand as of yet, but we are already making the preparations for PCS. (We own our home, so there is a lot to do!) I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who is a spouse of someone in the 1st Combat Communications Squadron @ Ramstein or knows someone who is. My husband is currently in the 3rd CCS @ Tinker AFB and deploys and TDYs quite a bit. I was wondering how it compared to the 1st CCS @ Ramstein. It makes me extremely nervous to know I will be in a new country with my husband probably gone as much if not more than now. Any help or advice on OCONUS PCS would be helpful too. Thanks!

I am currently stationed at Kapaun Air Base on Vogleweh about 10 min away with my husband. Ramstein is a HUGE base, and they have a HUGE BX/PX biggest in Europe. That being said most families here hate it b/c it's always crowded etc. Most end up shopping on the economy which is much funner anways. The commissary at Vogelweh is bigger than Ramstein's and is a little nicer I think. There are lots fo traveling to do here, Paris is 2 hours away on the ICE train, and there are tours to different places going on all the time. Try this website:
