Camera!

So my hubby is coming home next month and I am in need to get a new camera; my son got a hold of the the one we currently own;a Kodak EasyShare v705 and well you can only imagine what it went through ha ha...
well I am pretty sure most of you own digital cameras and I was wondering what camera(s) or camcorder(s) you recommend that takes amazing photos and also does video and vice versa with the camcorder?

I have the Flip camcorder and a Kodak EasyShare C340. The Kodak is older, and I just got the flip a couple months ago. Apparently the Flip can take still pictures, but I haven't used it for that yet, just video. I really like the camcorder, and am in need of a new digital as well.

I have a Canon PowerShot SD790 IS digital Elph. The model number and bells/whistles change every year, but I love this camera.

I keep most of the interesting scenery pictures in a file called Life through my Lens.

Yes it can take video with sound and the greatest bonus of all..... it has a rechargable battery! I have the one it came with and an extra. Just buy a better SD card than the one it comes with because it's in the megs not gigs. Gigs are better than megs. Always. And T's are way better than G's. :-D

 photography is my hobby and i love just abotu anything by canon...i use a canon DSLR now that im more into photography but my smaller digital camera is a canon powershot...i dont know which one off the top of my head but i have owned several and loved them all! they do great videos too!
