has anyone delivered their baby at NHCP(naval hospital camp pendleton) and if so what was your experience like???
i'm due in may with my
first and was just wondering about it. and how long to do you stay in
the hospital and the baby is born??
From what I understand is you stay the typical two days after an uncomplicated vaginal birth. Now I know for a C section you have to stay for a minimal of 96 hours on Tricare Prime. I was curious and looked it up. I'm due in May too and will be delivering at the Naval hospital in Jacksonville, FL. I'm not too worried about it because the Navy strives to provide good civilian care; even make you fill out a "how did we do" card. I feel there are other things to worry about than delivery like are we going to have her room ready before she gets here or will I be waiting until my mom gets here to help get the rest taken care of..
Just perspective. Don't worry so much. Stress affects the baby. ;-) Someone will be there that's qualified with a catcher's mit on D-day.
Bump. Best wishes. I remember at the end of my pregnancies, I got so worried about everything that had to be done. I ended up having my second a week and a half early, and was completely unprepared. Thankfully, we had most of the necessities from my first baby.
Same here, except I was at Naval Hospital Guam. Everything was great! Policy here is to keep first-time moms with an uncomplicated vaginal delivery for 48 hours and 2nd, 3rd, etc. time moms for 24. C Sections are 72 hours either way. I'm a first-timer and convinced the docs to send me home after 24.
Quoting amywickerham:I am not sure about Camp Pendleton but I had my middle son at the naval hospital in Jacksonville, Florida and it was a great experience for me. I didn't have any problems at all and the staff was great. Good luck ! ! !
