I didn't go with my husband, but he was there for a year unaccompanied and really liked it.  The people were really nice and welcoming, he did a lot of hiking, cheap shopping, etc.  Good luck.

Here's a bump, as we have never been there, but I hope you enjoy it. Good luck.

We;ve been in Korea since August 09. I love it here.we live off post so sometimes dealing with the language barrier and the fact that alot of them need to be retrained in their jobs can really drive me nuts, but i love it. But as alot of people  say " it is what you make of it."

Loved it!!! You should go with your husband. We spent two years in Korea and It was great!  We lived off post and our daughter went to an American school in Seoul.   Good luck!

Most of the time they don't let family go with their soldier.  The base just isn't big enough for family members.  The ones that do get to go don't have children.  I know a SSG who was over there with his wife for 7 months and when they found out they were pregnant they sent him back to the states.  If your husband does get orders for Korea then it's most likely going to be just him going.  It's only a year and easier then a deployment.

I haven't been there (hoping we get to travel with husband soon) but I've talked to ALOT of people and have only heard one fully negative review like another lady said it seems to be "it is what you make it" if you go there expecting your life wont be diffrent and in some ways difficult your in trouble if you go in with an open mind and looking to have fun you will have a blast!

i would really like to go with him, we have a 6 month old so, hopefully, they let us go as a family.. i just hope its some where farther away from North Korea.. ;o(... i heard that the closer it is to North Korea the greater the danger, and higher chances of our daughter and i not being able to go with my husband... Also, do we have to live off post? or is that an option we have?  there is a rumor that it will be in camp Casey... i wonder if that means we cant go with him....hmmmm
