Personal power is the life force within everyone. It is the use of our inner energy to influence the quality of life for ourselves and for our children. Personal power is not our physical strength, but rather the drive to accomplish things, the will to love, the energy and commitment to create, to change, to build and to raise healthy, caring children.

Just do the deep cleaning (mopping, tubs, sinks, dusting, etc) and leave the picking up for right before you walk out the door.  I always run around and pick everything up real quick and vacuum right before my husband comes home.  I keep the house really clean anyway, but I need it to be spotless when he first gets home.

I can see how you're frustrated. My kids have been the same way lately. The only time I can get anything done is when they're asleep.

I would suggest a dog cage.

; )

Just breathe in, breathe out.

The last thing he will be worried about when he gets home, is white gloving the house.

And, there is no combination of words I could say...

But, I'll tell you one thing, it's always better when we're together.

LOL, I was thinking she should just lock him in a closet.

OP:  Just breathe like she said.  He'll be so happy to be home, he won't really be paying much attention.

I usually try to clean after DD goes to bed. And I usually do the main things that she can't mess up before (dishes, etc) and then do the other things right before it is time. That way I just have to maintain and clean up the new messes instead of trying to do it all at once. Congrats on the homecoming!!
