i am sorry but i am tired of hearing about whitney houston! imo she chose to die. she chose to not get help. she had all the resources she needed. yet its all over the news over and over again!

what about news about our soldiers? what about giving recognition to those who have given the ultimate sacrafic? what about giving recognition to those over there right now? if you went by the media you wouldnt even know we still have soldiers over there fighting and dying!

what is the deal with this? do the people really not care anymore?

if one more person says "i thought ALL of our troups came home the end of 2011!" - i think i might just slap them! of course i wont because i dont overly blame them for not knowing i blame the media for turning their backs on our soldiers!

just know that i have all soldier in my heart at all times! my son hasnt deployed yet, scheduled the end of this year.

Eh. She may have "chosen" to die, but military members also chose to serve. If they wanted international news of their death (and some of them DO get that), and if they wanted the news to be all about them for weeks, and millions to mourn them, they should have chosen a different career. But a majority do not care for the glory.

We have a day set a side to "mourn the loss" or "remember" the service members as a whole. Like pp sd most service members don't want the glory. When a service member dies they are honored by the ones who knew them. People all over the WOrLD knew of whitney houston, that's why its a big deal. I'm not particularly interested in the news coverage but it is a tragedy for her family.

Why should the two even be compared?

I agree with the other posters. Usually our soldiers don't care for the fame they just are doing it for their country!

How did she choose to die? Did you get the autopsy report?

They said she overdosed.

Was it accidental or intentional? Last I heard toxicology reports wouldn't be out for a few weeks.

Apples to Oranges.

Much like the sports stars vs soldiers, no?

That I don't know. I did read from TMZ (i belive) that she didn't have enough water in her lungs to drown that she had ODed and then after she died she slid down in the water of the hot tub!

they are just saying on the news that the coroner is still trying to figure out the cause of death, everything you are saying is pure speculation.  she did get the help but as with alot of addicts it does not always work, so she went back two more times, this last time she was determined to get over this addiction.  I think her body gave up on her what is the harm of honoring this woman who contributed so much to music?  We all now about the sacrifices our soldiers, sailors and Marines do for this country, we honor and appreciate them everyday of our lives, we can surely set aside a day or two for a music icon.
