Anyone in here have a child that gets migraines? If so, how do you treat it?I know what the trigger is, but there is no way to avoid the trigger.

As long as we catch my son's as soon as he feels them coming then Ibuprofen will usually head them off.  Lack of sleep and sugar seem to triggers for mine so I make sure he is well rested and if I know that he is going to be around a lot of sugar (like today) then I remind him what happens and make sure he knows to tell me as soon as he feels the slightest twinge of a migraine coming.

I know someone that has a 9yo with migraines. I think they sometimes they get pretty severe. She is on FB if you want me to send you her name. You could probably send her a message if you do not get the info you need here :)

My daughter gets migraines due to stress, we are working with a psychologist to help her find ways to cope with stress better. We just got a nasal pain Reliever for the worst episodes, we haven't used it yet because she hasn't had one yet. For the smaller once resting in a quiet room seems to help a little. She doesn't recognize the before signs yet, so it's hard to give her a pain reliever before they get bad.
She also gets headaches due to allergies and wearing/not wearing her glasses.
I feel so bad for her, because she seems to get a headache or a migraine every day, I'm just glad that her worst episodes are few and far between.

My Son is 5 years old and has suffered from migraines for the last 2 years. He has them so frequent they ended up putting him on nerve blockers for awhile. His nueroligist said his is mainly hereditary since my husband had them that bad at the same age. We haven't found many triggers because he gets them about 1-2 times a week (those are to the point he his throwing up and passing out after) We make sure he eats as much as Organic and natural foods as possible. He wears sun glasses or hats when going outside. We make sure he drinks lots of fluids, took him off of diary, and keep his allergies in check. It's very hard to see your child screaming in pain and theirs nothing you can do. :(

Bubba has gotten 1, thankfully no more. I started getting them in 5th grade. My doctor had me on something called cafergot (sp) or something like that. I hope you find something.
