Is anyone in the Reserves? I will be starting my journey into the Reserves and I know pretty much what it will be like I just want to hear from you ladies and what you think. Dh is active duty AF and we will be stationed at Cannon AFB in New Mexico. I'm guessing I will have to travel to the nearest AF base? Which I believe is 4 hours to the south. How has your experience been in the AF Reserves? Any tips or advice?

From what I remember clovis is like 2.5 hour drive to Albuquerque where kirtland is. I could be mistaken. I hadn't been up to clovis since I was young.

Other then that, I hope you find some clairification for the reserves. :)

We have good friends that are married, one AF reserves one Active Duty.  Their biggest challenge they admit to enduring was when she psc'd to Scott AFB, IL and he was sent to the Pentagon.  For almost 3 years they had a long distant marriage/family.  Otherwise, they both love their career fields and are very happy with the decisions they made.  Good Luck!

That would be alot better than a 4 hours drive once a month! lol

Hmm good to know! I think if that happened to us DH would want to spend the money to have me travel to my base every month lol.

She is a full time reservist on dual status. That was probably the biggest difference.
