questions for Marines..

so, last night at work, i was talking to this customer about random things, and i was telling him about informing my husbs the sex of our child while he was deployed..

the guy- who was a marine- then said, that once the child was born, that while my hubs is deployed that he would get more money..

so i was like, besides the normal, family separation pay, hazard pay, tax free, we dont really get extra..

he kept insisting, that when they deploy they get more money per child..

he was marine.. the hubs is navy, and the lady behind him who was airforce said that is not true..

so, after he left, we had an army guy walk in, we asked him.. he has never heard of it..

so, we were thinking that maybe its a marine thing?

anyone heard of this?

He would only more money if it was his first dependant. If he is married while deployed he already collects extra for the one dependant.  Family Separation Allowance is always rate of $250 per month if you have one dependant or 5. People would be caking if that were the case.

Heh. Sometimes the units pool together cash after a baby comes, but no. Marine Corps doesn't give extras for having more babies.
