Some of my biggest military spouse pet peeves.....

1-They don't get paid enough for the hours they work and don't get overtime.

It is called a "salary". You get $X/year, regardless of your hours worked. My dad gets a salary and works a ton of hours, was gone from 6 am to 7 pm every night, went on business trips and was gone from us (not the same as a deployment, I know, but he was gone), etc. He never got overtime because he got a salary!

2-We pay our actors and athletes more than our SM's.

Well then, your spouse should have become and actor or pro athlete, not gone into the military. If people paid for tickets to see them in battle or bought clothes with their name on it or bought sneakers because your dh promoted them, they would make more also. But, they don't.

3-They don't make enough money and could make so much more as a civilian.

Would I like my dh to make more money? Yes. But, he does just fine. We have four children, 3 cars, bought a really nice house, etc. With all the allowances and extra pay, my dh makes close to $60K/year, plus we still get the tax refund of someone who makes much less. If you think your dh can do better as a civilian, go for it. My dh got out and went back in. The civilian world isn't all glitter and rainbows.

Hell Old PT shirt?  Nahh I just had him take my ass to clothing and sales and had him buy me a whole new set (okay so it was 3 sets but who's counting right?).  I took those suckers home and bedazzled the hell out of them, even put his rank on my left shoulder!  Now when I go to the Commissary, I rock out with my rank out and all dem bizatches be jealous of how I roll!
