Today was ds3's last day of preschool before summer break. Each year they have a program and family picnic.
All my boys have attended this school, so I've probably done this about 7-8 times.
Dh has never been. He's always been gone.
It is what it is, but, for some reason, today, it made me sad.
Has there ever been anything that, despite wearing your big girl panties, still made you blue for them to miss?

Quoting SusanD:
Last night ds1 went to his first dance (end of the year before middle school dance type thing) and he went with a girl. It would have been nice for dh to have been here.

I think it wasn't just dh not being there; seeing the grandparents, aunts, and uncles made me sad for my guys...
Oh, well... I'll treat them to ice cream later.

Dh missed dd1's birthday, our 10th anniversary, and is missing all of dd2's firsts. It sucks but it is what it is.

I'm glad everyone is sharing. I think it helps to acknowledge these feelings every now and then.
