Hello All!

My husband and I are in San Antonio, and we are pregnant with our first baby. I have been sent to BAMC for care, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with how their OB clinic works? I am 8 weeks pregnant today, and we have our Pregnancy Orientation scheduled for next week. Does anyone know what this is, or what they do at this class? All I was told was that a doctor will not see me until I have completed this orientation; however they have not even gone so far as to officially test me! Very confused with the lack of information we are receiving.....thank you in advance!

Oh yeah- I also had a lot of people in the room when I delivered (and in and out throughout the labor). It doesn't bother me- dr's and nurses have to learn too, but it's fair to warn you that there are a lot of people around!

You have rights as a patient, regardless if you are delivering in a teaching hospital. You can refuse to allow students in. Mention it to the nurse during admission, and if they give you a hard time write it on the consent form before you sign it.
