I was reading questions from another site and a woman's dh was getting stationed overseas. Well the woman said she could not afford the plane fare for their dog so she was going to try and get the dog ( a chihuahua) on his orders so the military would pay for the dogs flight. WTH?

When we moved to Germany, they allowed us one pet to take with us, coming home though we had to pay for our cat. Our move overseas btw was an entire btn so they took care of everything

Quoting cocoroo:

Can't you put a little dog like that and carry it on? People are so stupid.

You can do that, but its still going to be a bit of money.

Yep, that's how I flew with my doxies. Their ticket was only $70.

No shit, crazy cat lady. How the heck does she not smell like cat?! That's like 7 cat boxes somewhere in her house.. eww..

I see an episode of Animal Hoarders in her future, LOL.

Your friend had 6 cats?! Wow. I've been a lot of places and nowhere that I've been has ever allowed someone to own that many pets. Most city ordinances have a limit to the number of pets you can have. On post housing has strict regulations on the number of pets. Where was she being stationed at?

Cant it just sit in her lap and ride for free? it works with kids (assuming they are very young.)

The Army does not pay for pets to come to Germany...it is an out of pocket expense, but you CAN be reimbursed when you file your TAXES...and ferrets are not allowed in overseas housing, PP...sorry!!

when you go overseas to MOST but not all bases you can fly space A on the military contracted planes and bring you dog at no charge. England is NOT one of them but we are taking our 2 dogs out of germany doing this. We have to pay to get them from Maryland to South Carolina but we are just going to rent a car and drive.
