HELLO,

THE TIME HAS COME FOR MY ONLY SON, TO LEAVE FOR NAVY TRAINING 07/23/2012. YES I'M A PROUD OF MY SON , AND AT THE SAME TIME SCARED. SO I'M IN NEED OF POSTIVE FRIENDS ON MY SIDE. IT'S JUST BEEN HIM AND I. SO I'M REALLY REALLY GOING TO MISS MY SON.

IS THERE ANYTHING SPEACIAL THAT I NEED TO KNOW?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Stay calm. Do not watch the news. Write him letters. Give him space.

All easier said than done.

You and he are going to do just fine :-) I have a son and a husband in the Navy, and I can tell you, all in all, it's a good life :-)

I can relate to your feelings of being scared and proud at the same time. My middle son just finished Army basic training and is currently in AIT. He will be going to So. Korea when he finishes AIT in August. We have been blessed by the fact that he was able to take his cell phone to basic. So we had contact with him when they allowed phone calls. During AIT he has had his cell phone and computer. So the communication has been more and it has helped alot.

I agree with the other ladies...write lots of letters...stay calm. Will be praying for you as you travel this new chapter in your life. God bless.

Yes absolutely don't watch the news. I'm not a mom to an AD member, I'm a wife. But even I don't watch the news. His mom did (when the Quran burnings happened) and she just about drove herself crazy, worrying and calling me all worried and getting me upset lol.
